Water Lilies (2026) Original Watercolour by Yuliia Prokopchuk

36 x 51 x 0.2cm (unframed) / 36 x 51cm (actual image size)

£480.57

This painting was born quite spontaneously.

During a walk through the beautiful Uman Park in Ukraine, I came across this enchanting view of water lilies, floating leaves and deep, dark water. I simply couldn’t resist taking a photograph. Later, I found myself returning to that image again and again, knowing that I had to paint it.

And so this piece became part of my tropical-inspired series.

I was especially drawn to the contrast between the delicate pink flower and the almost black-blue water, the warm golden, burgundy and olive tones of the leaves, and the tiny patches of light shimmering across the surface.

With this painting, I wanted to capture more than just the beauty of a water lily. I wanted to preserve that fleeting moment when an ordinary walk suddenly turns into a moment of wonder — when something beautiful catches your eye and makes you stop.

My work is a unique and original handmade piece.

It is painted on high-quality, 100% cotton paper specially made for watercolor by the world’s best manufacturers, with a density of 300 grams per square meter. I also use the finest professional paints in my work.
