My inspiration is the moment when nature reclaims territory. I am fascinated by how the irregular, fluid shapes of the green mass appear to build up and displace the old paint layers (white, gray, and revealing brick and yellow undercoats). The contrast between the soft, organic contours of the green and the cracked, brittle material of the wall creates dramatic textural tension. The work celebrates vital force and the unpredictable form that emerges from neglect.
I aim to evoke an appreciation for the power of life and, simultaneously, a sense of the inevitability of decay. The composition is visually heavy at the bottom and light at the top, creating the impression of a heavy, green landscape emerging from beneath the clouds. It is a micro-landscape with deep, emotional color.
