Original artwork description
This wintry scene depicts a cafe in Reykjavik. Inside is warmth, the air filled with the scent of hot coffee and cinnamon. Outside the street is deep in crisp snow, the sky silver and unforgiving. A single figure strides by, wrapped up well against the arctic winter. The city stretches only so far, until the wilderness begins, a land of trolls and volcanoes, a land of ice and steam and fire and snow.
The work is rich in detail and yet laced with a colorful naivity. Texture has been added to give extra depth. The canvas is 0.4 inches deep and can therefore hang without the need for framing if wished.
