Original artwork description
Conventionally, walking on the wild side means engaging in extreme behaviours, but what if that extreme behaviour was stopping being a people pleaser or looking externally to validation. That would be wild for most people. This painting marks a shift in my perspective, where I dare to create art and writing that I love, not necessarily what gets the most audience appreciation on social media etc. Daring to be oneself is to walk on the wild side!
The palette reflects the jubilation I experienced when I had the epiphany of truly engaging my self belief. The vibrancy of the work in bold magentas and orange is grounded by the earth colours and cooler buff tones of the centre of the work and I am delighted to share it with the world.
