I created Wait for Me as a vulnerable plea for companionship on the often-solitary journey of growth. While others have moved ahead—those I started with and even those who began after me—this work captures my deep wish for them to wait. The painting features a woman in profile, her hair adorned with delicate pink flowers, set against a warm, saturated orange background. To me, going alone on this path is tiresome and depressing; this work is an emotional anchor, expressing the human need for a shared pace and the comfort of collective progress.

In this composition, I used a vibrant, high-contrast palette of ochres and deep mahoganies to render the subject, highlighting her "inner glow" even in a moment of longing. The inclusion of a single green plant held close to her face serves as a symbol of growth that is still in progress, mirroring her own state of becoming. Wait for Me is an affirmation of the resilient spirit that is brave enough to admit its need for others, honoring the belief that our journeys are made meaningful not just by where we go, but by who remains beside us as we travel.
