Violet Roots is a contemporary figurative painting from the ROOTS series, inspired by Georgian and Caucasian cultural heritage.

A solitary female figure emerges from a field of violet and lavender tones. Her elongated silhouette, long braids and stylized traditional dress evoke the visual language of the Caucasus while moving beyond literal representation.

The painting transforms elements of Georgian traditional clothing into a contemporary exploration of identity, femininity and cultural memory. Strong black linear accents contrast with the soft violet palette, giving the figure a quiet yet monumental presence.

Part of the ROOTS series, the work reflects on the way heritage survives through generations — not as something fixed in the past, but as a living part of contemporary identity.

Original artwork, 50 × 40 cm.

Materials used:

Acrylic and oil on linen canvas
