In creating Vigilance, I aimed to capture the innate alertness and loyalty of the Doberman. There’s a depth in its gaze—a blend of watchfulness and quiet affection. I used bold, textured brushstrokes to convey the rich fur detail, especially around the ears and muzzle, emphasizing the play of light to bring dimensionality and life. The background is a muted cool gray, loosely rendered, to contrast and highlight the warmth and strength of the dog’s face. This painting is more than a portrait—it’s an homage to the spirit of the breed.
