This view from Honor Oak, South-East London at sunset looks across to the Shard and other skyscrapers in the City of London and beyond to Canary Wharf.
I was inspired by Turners watercolours depicting London & also the work of some of the Impressionists who visited & painted London views such as Monet, Pissarro & Sisley.
The painting was made using watercolour, inks, gesso and small areas of image transfer before scratching away parts of the image to give a ‘distressed’ & textural surface to work into.
This painting is sold framed in a basic white frame and mount (as seen in the 2nd image) and is ready to hang .
