Original artwork description:

Vestigium, by Spanish artist Raúl Lara, belongs to his Transitus Animae series —a body of work where the figure dissolves into the very substance of memory. Executed in black and white through image transfer and acrylic on gessoed canvas, the piece contains no painted flesh: the image emerges solely from contact, absence, and residue.

Fine ridges, lifted edges, and delicate areas of loss reveal the slow erosion of time. The surface carries faint fibers and a soft matte sheen, creating a tactile yet weightless presence that seems to hover between visibility and disappearance.

Every fragment breathes with quiet rhythm, turning imperfection into narrative. Vestigium may be presented framed or unframed; its edges are finished and ready to hang. Through this restrained material language, Lara continues his meditation on the thresholds between figuration and abstraction, matter and memory, presence and loss.
