Verify You Are Human (2026) is a contemporary surrealist painting that explores the increasingly fragile relationship between human identity and digital existence. In a world where we are constantly asked to prove our humanity to machines, I wanted to reverse the question and ask whether modern life itself is making us less human.

At the center of the composition, a faceless figure presents a giant digital portal filled with an idealized sky. Around this screen, small figures gather in different states of engagement, dependence, curiosity, exhaustion, and isolation. Some attempt to climb into the virtual space, others sit mesmerized before it, while one figure falls into the void below. Through these figures, I sought to represent different ways in which people interact with technology and digital environments.

The glowing aura surrounding the central figure evokes both sanctity and warning. The screen becomes a contemporary altar, a window to aspiration, escape, and illusion. The clouds symbolize freedom, transcendence, and possibility, yet their existence inside a technological frame raises questions about authenticity, perception, and the commercialization of human attention. When creating this work, I was interested in the idea that technology can function both as a source of liberation and as a force that shapes our behavior in ways we do not always recognize.

Rather than condemning technology, Verify You Are Human invites viewers to reflect on their own relationship with screens, social media, artificial intelligence, and digital identities. My intention was not to provide answers, but to create a space for reflection about connection and disconnection, freedom and dependence, presence and absence in the twenty-first century.

This original painting combines surrealist symbolism with contemporary social commentary, creating a work that resonates with collectors interested in technology, psychology, philosophy, and the evolving human condition.
