Inspired by a painting by Canaletto, I reimagined his daytime scene as a magical Venetian night. In this oil painting on canvas (24 by 18 inches), fireworks and drifting Chinese lanterns transform the city into a festival of light.

Brilliant bursts of colour erupt across the deep blues of the night sky, each firework carefully painted to contrast with the shimmering darkness. A delicate mist of white stars surrounds the fireworks, bringing the scene to life and capturing the festive spirit of Venice after dusk.
