Urozhainytsia is the final guardian in my TINI RODU series, a collection born from the deep traditions of the Ukrainian motanka doll. She embodies the nurturing power of a woman who gathers the fruits of her labor, turning patience and care into something living.
The Symbolism
The Motanka Cross: The cross on her face is a sacred protective symbol that shields against evil and connects the spiritual and earthly realms.
Background embroidery: The traditional embroidery pattern in the background serves as a symbol of prosperity, continuity, and the ancestral connection to the land that sustains us.
The herbs: The grain represents fertility and the earth’s blessing; the poppies signify the beauty and fragility of life; and the marigolds reflect a love for home and native land.
Threads: The vibrant red and golden threads symbolize vitality, joy, and the richness of the earth.
