A slightly diffused sunlight is flooding in through this large sash window; two dresses, tried and discarded over the arm of a chair, and a dress shirt hang, backlit, in the window.
The tree just seen through the window is a huge walnut tree which was just coming into leaf when I painted this. The rug, now rather worn and tired, is an early Conran design.
