Original artwork description
Café terraces of Paris and their furniture are a real source of inspiration. I love all the colors; however I have rarely worked with vermillon red but it was great painting these red tables shining in the sun like in a theater scene. The atmosphere is a bit strange with no one sitting ou walking around. I wanted the focus on the first table with its glass of water and its coffee cup. May be someone has just left, there’s some mystery in the atmosphere. The white of the coffee cup makes the red color more vibrant. This painting is an original and strong piece which gives pride of place to color.
