Original artwork description
Places of Proustian memory, places that evoke. This corner of Edinburgh reminds me of times long gone, of early family visits, relatives and days of hot summer freedom, when pavements smelled of tar and toy shops and Scottish sweet shops beckoned and seduced, followed by buttery scones and fizzy orange. And at the heart stands a pub, scents of ale, and the occasional roar of crowds, its colours purple and gold. I wanted to repaint this scene. A lovely gift, a great addition to any collection.
Texture has been added to create extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
