This sculpture is created from two marble drill columns. The challenge for me lies in the limitation the material imposes: narrow and long. How can you still create space and movement and ensure coherence between the separate parts.
I chose a matte, chafed skin. I like that the drawing of the stone is slightly present, but not too clear. And the soft, matte skin gives a beautiful light-shadow effect; important in this sculpture with minimal movement.
The two separate parts are on a wooden base, reinforced with a metal pin.
