Original artwork description
The starting point of this artwork were two model studies painted with warm colour on a blue-tinted background for a contrasting effect. These studies were then cut out and mounted on a carrier painted in yellow ochre, a complementary colour for blue. The end result is simultaneously graphic and painterly, emphasising the negative and the positive form of the human body, which creates an intriguing tension between the two figures.
