Two figures sit in quiet companionship beneath two round-crowned trees beside a vivid blue river, the twin peaks of Ararat presiding serenely over the entire scene. The Armenian highlands unfold in luminous waves of rose, mauve, ochre, and gold — hills shaped with fluid, confident brushstrokes that give the landscape an almost dreamlike simplicity.
