This painting is an atmospheric autumnal view of the Upper Lake in Glendalough, a magical and mysterious place in County Wicklow, Ireland.

It's a reflection of colourful clouds in the lake's still water as the last rays of the day set the sky on fire.

This piece has an autumnal feel and atmosphere that reflect perhaps the days beginning to close in.

I painted the clouds a highly saturated rose colour to set them set against the muted aubergine colour of the mountains and water and to arrive at a pictorial balance.
