Tree trunk, Endau Rompin Park is the complete title.
Acrylic colour on handmade thai mulberry paper(kada sa),deckled edges, 8 x 11.25 in., 20 x 28.5 cm.
The painting is inspired by scenes I see in tropical rain forests. In this case I went on an excursion to one of the National parks here in Malaysia. I equipped myself with pencils and paper. The rest was done in studio...
I use a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a thick parchment like paper, strong yet pliable. The paper is handmade to this size to get the unique, uneven deckled edges which adds to the overall textural effect. The close up picture is to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
For framing, leave the decorative edges exposed! They are an integral part of the composition.
