TRANSIT IV (2022)Gouache painting by Nives Palmić

This is an abstract painting with strong emphasis on colour and colour shades.
The point of this painting is in the transition of colours from dark to light shades and from one colour to another (in this case from green to magenta).
I like to create many shades with a limited number of colours, to get a special atmosphere. In this painting I used: deep green, lemon yellow, magenta red and white. Painting TRANSIT I is created in the same way with different color combinations.

It is painted with gouache colours on quality thick watercolour paper. Gouache technique is one of my favourite because the colours from different layers slightly mix together which results in rich and interesting colour shades.
