Original artwork description:

The award winning Tranquillity Series is an ongoing series of original oil paintings which explore with considerable and intense observation the qualities of clear water. With particular attention paid to the subtle colours, patterns, distortions and movements within the water.

This large striking centre piece gallery wrapped canvas is supplied ready to hang. Being ´gallery wrapped´ means that no framing is required because the painted image is continued around all of the four sides. The canvas is stretched over a composite stretcher, this type of stretcher is particularly robust being constructed from both aluminium and wood. Consequently it will not warp even in conditions with high humidity. Notes with advice on hanging and care are provided.

The painting technique used for this painting is quite laborious and involves layers of meticulous blending to create the harmonies of colours and shapes that appear in the shallow sea. Combining this method of painting with the quality of linen canvas used, which has quite a fine weave, the surface of the painting is consequently fairly smooth.

The painting will be shipped in a purpose built sturdy wooden box to ensure safe transit. Potentially for some international destinations there may be import duty/tax to be paid, for EU countries around 5% and for USA often less, sometimes none. Please contact me for more information.
