Original Encaustic Artwork by Alona Hryn

The paintings in this series show that time leaves its mark on everything. Each piece narrates a story of past or present, inviting the viewers to reflect on the “traces” we might leave behind.

Time is a creator who is incessantly changing everything around him. Its impact can be destructive (erosion, decay) or transformative (renewal, reinvention). Time can be both a destroyer and an architect, creating beauty out of chaos.

The traces of time are not only physical changes, but also emotional imprints that we carry within ourselves. The paintings hint at how the past is always inseparably woven in the present, even if we are not aware of it.

Time simultaneously erases and preserves. Some moments leave vivid prints, while others fade, like footprints in the sand washed away by the wave. In this series, every stroke represents an attempt to capture and eternalise what is which inevitably disappears.
