Torso 2 is a painting that began as a palette for another painting. He actually uses professional grade heavy weight canvases at his palettes - that way he never wastes paint. He can mix, compare, mix again on the canvas.
Once he's done with the palette canvas, he re-imagines and re-works it as a finished painting. Torso 2 is inspired by Greek marble sculptures of figures. They usually are missing arms and maybe heads or legs, but the remaining torso is a beautiful masterpiece non-the-less.
