Top Heavy Peonies (2015) Original Oil Painting by Gray Jacobik

I love Chinese blue and white vases, and this image (from a royalty-free photograph by Martateron, the rights to which I purchased through ) caught my eye, both for the pattern on the vase and the rich abundance of white peonies, the kind characterized by a single red dot in their centers. Simple otherwise, just a draped blue cloth over a concrete slab, but the whole is pleasing and it was a great pleasure to capture the pattern of the blossom petals which are deeply complex. Framed in a carved silver frame that sets the painting in a harmonous whole. The background is painted in gradations of a dusty lavender. My mark on the lower left corner and this is signed and dated in verso as well. Coated with artist-grade varnish to protect against abrasion and dust, this painting ships with a digitally-registered Certificate of Authenticity.
