Stylistically inspired by cubism, this is from a series of "self discovering" paintings, produced on torn and stitched canvas. The paintings begin with only the idea of some kind of portrait and through a process of painting many layers, gradually develop and find their own form. This one began as a single face but became two people in one, and the notion of black and white coming together for the better world took form.
