In the Middle Ages, women suspected of witchcraft were executed (most often on false denunciations). Now it is the persecution of dissidents, objectionable, ideological or political opponents, brought to the point of absurdity. We see such examples every day. This resonated with the state of mind of the artist and this canvas was born. You see a completely harmless and innocent creature, which turned out to be the worst enemy for really dark forces.
