These dahlias did especially well this year. And they seemed to just go on forever, thanks to such a mild autumn. I picked these in late September, and settled on just three stems. More than that seemed too cluttered; there were also just a couple of small buds to fill out the composition. I positioned the vase to catch the afternoon and evening sun.
