Chair, sunset, question, expectation, reflections, time.
The painting evokes a sense of tense anticipation and inner concentration. The red form resembles at once a glowing core, a fruit, or a pulsating thought slowly emerging through the cool turquoise space. The contrast between the rich red and the cool blue-green hues creates an emotional clash — between feeling and reason, impulse and stillness. The drips and textured surface heighten the sense of time, of a slow dissolution or the maturing of an idea. The work is perceived as a moment of reflection before action, when energy has already been accumulated but not yet released.
This painting is done with acrylic and oil paints. The surface of this painting is very textured. I use texture paste and sand to create the texture. All this creates a feeling of vibration on the surface of the painting. The edges are painted and the painting does not need a frame.
