“There was nowhere else I needed to be”

A quiet moment captured on the surface of calm water. A single touch creates expanding ripples, gently transforming perfect stillness into movement. What appears simple at first gradually reveals hidden reflections, submerged stones, and soft light beneath the surface, inviting the viewer to slow down and look closer.

This original oil painting explores the relationship between silence and change. Using multiple transparent layers of oil paint, I sought to recreate the luminous depth of clear water and the subtle beauty that often goes unnoticed. Rather than depicting a specific place, the painting expresses a feeling—a moment of presence, calm, and quiet contemplation. It is an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the peaceful rhythm of nature.
