Every time I find myself in the Bay of Kotor, I admire the extraordinary theatricality of this beautiful place. High mountains, like a theatre backdrop, frame the smooth surface of the water, which looks like a theatre stage.
It seems that, according to the script of the play, a Venetian ship carrying cheeses and olive oil is about to appear.
But no, these are other times, other ships. Instead of a merchant shio, a huge tourist liner enters the bay. And the mountains, majestic in their immutability, condescendingly watch what is happening.
The painting was created in a stretched canvas with the painting continued around the edges of the artwork.
