Sometimes a painting begins with something very small: a branch on the kitchen table, a quick glance at a glass catching the light. That is how this piece started. I am not interested in spectacle, but in the moment when something ordinary suddenly gains weight. The cherries, the soft fruit, the slender vase – all of them appear light and fragile. And yet the arrangement stands firm and clear in the space, as if it refuses to be overlooked.

The black background removes every distraction. What remains are color, shape, and the quiet tension between them. For a collector, this work can act as a counterpoint to everyday noise – a place where the eye can rest without drifting into sentimentality. “The Weight of Red” is about concentration: about what stays when you take everything unnecessary away. Maybe it’s a reminder that even small things can have a strong presence when you really give them your full attention.
