A holy painting of a statue of Jesus Christ, that’s been pushed into an arched recess, set in a high hedge. It’s a formal garden setting at night, with moonlight shining through the foliage. The idea being, that religion and its message is becoming more distant from modern society and is less of a focal point in many peoples lives. Its image has been pushed into the darkness for many, who do not consider a deeper meaning to life. The world we live in has many distractions, and we are easily distracted from our true selves. The statue on the outside to the left, is resembling those who appear to be enlightened, but are distracted by all manner of temptations, through our devices, but also appear to be connected to reality. They are turning away from god and the message in scripture, that speaks to us all. Though the message and its importance is pushed further into the darkness, in modern life, it remains the only way to the light. Work in progress.
