Half-angel, half-demon is located at the entrance to a kind of temple, on the floor of which a river flows. With the tail of the demon, the central figure creates a whirlpool from which a vision of the picture appears and into which everything goes and disappears. The Sphinx symbolizes the eternal mystery and the union of the infernal and the heavenly. The temple with a confessional is the desire of the soul for God, the whirlpool in the floor of the temple is the entrance to the Abyss.
