This painting is one of a series of 3 shoreline paintings this autumn 2019 showing the sky colour with the sun low in the west, inspired by the autumn colours as the sun sets and by many years painting in Whitstable and many visits to the beach.
My shoreline series has evolved following some plein air painting and photographs studying the effects of the receding tide on the stones, shells and seaweeds on the shoreline.
