Original artwork description:

This artwork was created as a result of a personal connection to the native land, where the apple tree, planted many years ago by my grandmother, grows. Apples are one of the most widespread and important agricultural crops in Ukraine, deeply rooted in national traditions. It symbolizes the generosity of the land, the richness of natural gifts, and a close connection to the fertile soils where these fruits are cultivated. This work emphasizes the significance of apples not only as part of agricultural production but also as an element of Ukrainian culture, passed down through generations.

The image of apples in the painting carries symbolic meaning, representing the “taste” of Ukrainian land, its wealth, and traditions. This image reflects the connection between nature, family, and heritage, passed down through actions, memories, and the fruits we grow.

This artwork was exhibited at the National Museum of Natural History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv, as part of a botanical art exhibition Botanical Art Worldwide 2025: Crop Diversity in Ukraine, 2025
