The Sugar Bowl (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by CAROLINE GREEN

101.6 x 76.2 x 2.54cm (unframed)

£11,094.8

When I was six, I walked into our quiet dining room and saw the lone, sacred sugar bowl. As a type 1 diabetic who’d never tasted sugar, I was desperate to know what it was like. I pinched a few grains, but I didn't taste much. So I grabbed the bowl. Then I heard my sister, Jessica, coming. Panicking, I hid behind the couch with it. Since I already had the bowl, I dug my fingers in and shoved sugar into my mouth, crunching like a tiny feral creature. Jessica followed the sound, peeked behind the couch, and found me sugar‑faced and horrified. All I could say was, “I just wanted to try it.”

This piece is for those who have asked, "Why?" Or "But what if?" It's for those who question everything. For those who would rather experience things for themselves. It's for the rule breakers.
Life is short.
Taste the sugar.
