Title: The story of the Passage
Series: Kyiv, Which No Longer Exists
Year: 2019
Medium: Oil on canvas
Size: 100x40cm; 100x100cm

This diptych captures a historical passage on Kyiv’s main street, Khreshchatyk, as it appeared over a century ago. Once a vibrant part of the city’s architectural heritage, the passage was destroyed during the Second World War and no longer exists today. Painted from archival inspiration, this work is a tribute to the lost beauty of Kyiv, preserving in oil what time and war have erased.

Created in 2019, the diptych consists of two canvases (100×40 cm and 100×100 cm) that together form a striking composition measuring 100×140 cm.

The painting was exhibited at my personal exhibition in Kyiv.
It is ready to hang with painted edges, signed on the front and back, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Materials used:

oil on canvas
