A quiet sunset filled with memory, hope, and the healing rhythm of the sea.

This painting captures a sunset over the Sea of Azov in Berdyansk — my hometown, a place deeply rooted in my heart. Today it remains under occupation, and this work carries my hope for the day it returns to Ukraine.

Created from photographs and personal memories, this piece is an attempt to preserve the light, warmth, and quiet peace of that shoreline. Every sunset is unique, and in this fleeting moment there is a special stillness — a sense of harmony and reflection.

Beyond the landscape, I wanted to convey a feeling: stepping into the sea after a hot day — the water cool yet gentle — bringing refreshment to the body and clarity to the mind. It is a moment of inner calm, where both body and soul can rest.

This artwork invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and mentally step onto the shore. It fills the space with a sense of serenity, soft light, and quiet joy. Even if you have never experienced a sunset by the sea, this painting offers a chance to feel it.

My work here is a single copy of my unique and original handiwork. It is made on special, high-quality 100% cotton paper designed for watercolor from the world’s best manufacturers and has a density of 300 grams/meter.
