The Shelter in Paradise #7 (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Yeunji Choi

76.2 x 76.2 x 12.7cm (unframed)

£1,512.69

"The Shelter in Paradise #7" is a continuation of my ongoing series exploring the conceptual boundaries of sanctuary, peace, and inner landscapes. Grounded in the practice of automatic drawing and intuitive mark-making, this piece captures a vibrant, living sanctuary where nature and emotion intertwine.

Using a rich mixed media approach, I layered gesso, acrylic, ink, and fluid oil sticks to create a deeply tactile, textured surface. Each layer represents a passage of time and a depth of feeling, inviting the viewer to look closely and discover the hidden patterns underneath. The energetic, floral-inspired abstract forms burst with life, evoking the sensation of stepping into a secret, comforting garden. My hope is that viewers will feel a profound sense of emotional shelter, warmth, and vitality when standing before this work.
