I painted this work as a reflection on the quiet moments when movement comes to an end and stillness begins.
A solitary figure stands between soft, flowing forms that suggest neither landscape nor architecture, but an emotional space shaped by balance, silence, and light. The sweeping curves create a gentle rhythm, allowing the eye to wander before coming to rest.
Rather than telling a story, I seek to evoke a feeling of calm presence. The small figure becomes a reminder of our own place within vast spaces, where simplicity allows reflection to emerge naturally.
This work is part of my ongoing The Shape of Stillness series, exploring quiet contemplation through minimalist forms, generous negative space, and restrained colour.
