The Sense of the Ephemeral
The work is an eulogy to fragility. The woman's face, absorbed and almost devout, leans toward the flower not to possess it, but to welcome its final gift: its fragrance. Smell is the sense of memory. By inhaling the flower’s essence, the woman seems to want to 'save' beauty from its inevitable decay, transforming a physical object that will wither into an abstract memory that will never die.
