‘The sandwich of divine ascension‘ is a gently satirical piece. A satire buttered lightly with sympathy and smeared with a calorific dollop of tragedy.
A man finds himself on a lunch break; a moment of rest bite, an island of something pleasant, sandwiched in a days work.
A factory in the background stands dominantly isolated. A metaphor perhaps, a representation of the world as an industrial process, where many a life is dominated by endlessly producing for others.
