There’s a lot happening in this piece; movement, restlessness, uncertainty, but beneath all of that is something gentler, too. A quiet hum of possibility. A flicker of hope that I hadn’t felt in a long time. Could this be my new reality? I feel a spark inside me ignite in this new city, Portland, Oregon.

This painting is about what it means to begin again, not with a clean slate, but with a full heart. It’s about walking forward while carrying fear in one hand and self-trust in the other. It’s about choosing to believe that love, belonging, and peace can grow in unfamiliar places, even when you’re not sure you deserve them yet.

This piece is my first chapter of Portland, The Rose City. 🌹 It was the first painting I made after moving.
