Original artwork description
The Rice Weeder, oil on panel, 20 x 20 cm - "Look at the Past" series. What a quiet, ancient, and sincere gaze,
it tells a story of mud and thought.
The Rice Weeder was her profession,
among rice paddies at dawn, a sun to be feared.
Long ago, little girls already worked,
with small hands, but already bending.
It would have been better to run and play,
than waste time among the ears of corn.
Better to laugh out loud, without pain,
to stay with parents, seeking warmth,
to stay a little longer to be loved,
not to grow up quickly, but to wait slowly.
But this was the world, this was its path...
