Original artwork description
The phone box caught my eye, a colorful icon of everyday English life. I loved the colour, the shape, the old fashioned solidity. Little shadows gather in every corner, and the earthy brown brick wall behinds further cements, no pun intended, the sense of English solidity. Memories return too, to the days before mobile phones, of fumbling for two pence coins with cold fingers. The work is full of colour, a perfect souvenir of England and a great gift. Texture has been added to give extra depth. The canvas is 0.5 inches deep and can therefore hang without a frame if wished.
