In The Presence of Absence, I delve into the fragile intersection between memory, loss, and identity. The work presents a dissolved figure, nearly swallowed by darkness, yet faintly emerging from within. The handwritten inscription “He is no longer there, but I still fill him” reflects the paradox of how absence continues to inhabit presence — both personally and collectively.

The contrast between the black field and the fractured red elements creates a powerful emotional tension, embodying layers of unresolved emotion, personal history, and collective experience.
