When I painted The Power of Gallop, my goal was not merely to depict a horse’s form, but to express the raw freedom and strength that surge from within. The flying dust, the wind-tossed mane, and the forceful motion embody the unstoppable energy of life. The contrast of cool sky blue and warm earth tones reflects the harmony between air and ground—between spirit and strength.
In terms of technique, I used bold contrasts of light and shadow and expressive splattering to convey the sense of speed and power. The flying dust in the foreground was created with flicking strokes, adding realism and motion. The centered composition invites the viewer to feel as if the horse is charging straight toward them—unstoppable and alive.
