Original artwork description
A big red moon shines on a flourishing banana, the layers of paint have been painted quite flat, to represent calm, a photo memory, inspired by prints and treasured photos of tropical times in the sun. Escapism and joy itself in this tropical scene. What does it remind you of?
Inspired by recent travels to Sicily, Malta and Barcelona, and vintage risoprints and memories of summers gone by, nostalgia and hope combine in my work, exploring how we remember our happiest memories.
