Original artwork description
Between vanity and inner journey, a skull emerges from a metal lace scallop shell.
This sculpture combines a skull and a scallop shell, two powerful symbols of passage, journey and transformation.
The metal lace, made of steel and bronze, allows the material to unfold in a play of empty and full spaces, where the apparent fragility contrasts with the strength of the metal.
The shell, evoking travel, pilgrimage and protection, seems to carry the skull like a contemporary relic.
The ensemble questions our relationship with time, memory and the traces left by existence.
The organic and irregular appearance of the surface gives the sculpture an almost living presence, oscillating between nature, body and symbol.
Steel base, diameter 10 cm.
